SAILING LICENCES CROATIA

International sailing licenses that are valid for navigation in Croatia are prescribed by the Croatian Ministry of Sea and Traffic.

On top of that, for the major number of nautical certificates (sailing licenses) from other countries you have to have a separate VHF license, a certificate that proves you are able to use and communicate through a VHF radio station each boat is equipped with. This is obligatory by the Croatian maritime law.

Our Ministry of Sea and Traffic issued a list of valid nautical certificates from foreign countries for that matter. By each certificate, it also explained if a separate VHF license is needed or not.

If the type of your sailing license (nautical certificate) is not listed in the list issued by the Croatian Ministry of Sea and Traffic (please see down below), then please contact us and send us a scanned copy of your license so we could contact the responsible authorities and check. In some cases, from our experience, there was not a certificate listed in the official document, but it was approved for the person to navigate.
